Our Playground In Memory of Frank & Miriam Gross (Fritz's Parents)

Fritz's Dad, Frank Gross, helped us build the campground from 1995 until 1997. He would spend a few weeks at a time tramping through the brush, weed whacking blackberries with Kathy, and measuring sites. His health deteriorated and his trips became less frequent. In 2001 we moved him up to the park from his longtime Chatsworth, California home. We originally built the park with the hopes that it would become a family home for all of the Gross - Casey clan since Fritz and I are only children. The "Best Laid Plans Of Mice and Men.....". - Unfortunately Frank succumbed to Alzheimer's Disease complications in the Spring of 2001. I (Kathy) spent a lot of time with Frank that last year since Fritz was working off site in California. Before he was bedridden, Frank spent hours pulling weeds and puttering in what he considered his very oversized yard. He also really enjoyed watching our young campers play in our very plain playground. While he was able, he talked about the jungle gym he would like to build. Our playground is dedicated to the memory of Frank and his wife Miriam. Fritz's Mom passed away in 1994 and never got to see the campground. We miss you Dad and Mom and wish you had been able to be a bigger part of Oregon Dunes KOA.
